This time

Time and time again, I try and fail

Trying to say how I truly feel, effort spent to no avail

Why do I feel that the meaning doesn't come through

Am I lacking the words to convey my truth or misunderstanding you

Or do we both of us hold back, neither wanting to give in and feel

Afraid what will come of it, either too painful or too real

Last attempt, no masquerading around

Write it down, clear as can be, honest and sound

No more stream of consciousness to be heard

No more hints, away with the subtle

Deep focus, pushing through the struggle

Of changing words for another, and another, and a third

This time painfully crafted, word for word

This time I'll get it right

This time I'll bring to light
