A Poem by Taylor Lane
"

will you release her hand, if it means holding mine?

"

so here i am devoted

to the words you are telling me

but you wrap your hands ‘round her

the same way you do to me

you pull me close into your arms

and then you take her hand

your lips plant kisses on my forehead

then whisper unto her

i wonder how she hears you voice

or if she remembers your words

every time that we lock eyes

but then yours drift to her

you tell me that i am yours

but it looks like you are hers

so tell me what i am to do

to keep my eyes now dry

as you whisper that i am different

and then pay me no mind

unresolved but yet still clear

what am i to do

for you told me that you wanted me

and part of me thinks that true

but yet the other half still stares

as your hand grazes her face

that same part wonders yet

of our impending fate

can you choose to love me yet

as i am insecure

am i justified in this sense

that you still feel for her

for i cannot bring it up again

for i have harped to much

yet still when you hold me now

i feel her lingering touch

as i go home and smell of you

a smile is brought to my lips

lips that beg of kissing you

lips that are now pouted

can you see it in my eyes

that pain when you’re with her

i have told you so many times

yet nothing ever changes

you have chosen me and i

refuse to let you go

how can i know when i shutter

at even your hello

a hello that you must whisper

to every dame gone by

yet i feel special in your touch

your lips upon my skin

as you kiss my hand and tell me

there is no competition

yet there you go along again

releasing my hand for hers

are these feelings i have for you

a blessing or a curse?
