BlackberryA Poem by TyBlackberryBlackberry, Heavy, In root of essence and sustenance, Essential and covered with, A seed for you and I. A blackberry to nourish It's seen the worst in mankind. When planted, we'd hope the root would prosper and grow, Heritage Clarity The blackberry masks the taste Of chaotic state In a place that masquerades as stable and safe And till this day, I can't sleep a wink, Knowing the number who've drank the poison. Even in polar night, in the dark, in my heart I know the berry shines I know sun shines I'd urge it to batten down the hatches, To survive through the winter Pinnacle of a reoccurring nightmare Staring at each of us in Lincoln's Reflecting Pool, Refracted in mirrors The blackberry overlooked, Mistook and misunderstood Not as tart as one would assume. Blackberry breached soil It struggles, But blooms. ![]() © 2017 TyFeatured Review
