Every Once And A WhileA Poem by Sarah
Every once and a while I think of you,
What you once meant to me, How we once shared everything, The long nights we stayed up talking, Every once and a while I think what happened as not as reality, but as a night mare, We had been in a fight over men in our lives, Commenting on whose heart break was worse, Brutal battles that left bloodied lips and black eyes, But it was us, Every once and a while I imagine what it would be like, to have you back in this world, You left not in your own will, Your precious life was stripped from you, Who knew that one knife in the world of thousands, could end a life that's so sweet. Every once in a while I imagine what our lives would be like now, Would we be more mature, More willing to be able to accept that we will be different, Or will time have taken its course and separated us anyway, Every once and a while, if not every day, I wish it were me not you
