Behind My Eyes

I close my eyes and look beyond the lid
Into the depths of my darkened vision
I see things never seen before
I see things unreal, then I see black

I open my eyes and through my crystal blue windows
Everything becoming clear
Memory's paintings all around
Reminiscing with my eyes

I close my eyes and search again
My mind knows there is more
beyond the ball of light 
I see fading

I open my eyes to the old and the new
I bring with me the manifested
The substance of my inner vision
Now for all to see

This is a really great poem. I always tell people that the most important thing about writing is not the grammatical issues or even clarity of prose but the way the prose presents itself, as something that flow through the lines smoothly. People have the ability to use the backs of their eyelids as scries. If you see sparkles and waves of color after your eyes have adjusted to the dark, your third eye may be opening.
