Frog Feed

Frog Feed

A Poem by Alyssa Dufresne

The life of an average feeder cricket is,
well,
Short.

Slightly viscous
Not fair
And doomed from the start
To be eaten
Gobbled up
By whatever it was made for.

They are fed
And fattened
Till just right
Take your pick –
Large or small.

And then are tricked
Into climbing in dark tubes
Before being tossed in a bigger tank

And before they have the chance to
Run –
The frog eats them up.

*chuckling* I remember my freshman year, and it really wasn't so bad for me. I didn't get tormented by the upper classmen, and the other freshmen left me alone....

Now...when I was a senior....I did have some fun with the incoming kids...I told this one girl, god, this still cracks me up almost 12 yrs later.....that when ever the PA system bell came on.....all freshmen had to stand out in the hallway.
Sure enough, the ring came through, and this girl got up, and stood in the hall. I fell out of my chair from laughing so hard....
