Frog FeedA Poem by Alyssa DufresneThe life of an average feeder cricket is,
well,
Short.
Slightly viscous
Not fair
And doomed from the start
To be eaten
Gobbled up
By whatever it was made for.
They are fed
And fattened
Till just right
Take your pick –
Large or small.
And then are tricked
Into climbing in dark tubes
Before being tossed in a bigger tank
And before they have the chance to
Run –
The frog eats them up.
