Living Room Togetherness

We go to a forum and it seems really neat

Places to go and people to meet

We read the stories from long ago

And some that aren't we all have to know

We read a while but words we don't write

Until late one cold winter night

With these people we may some how come alive

It's like leaving the house with out the drive

We hear about great places to dine

Or in the next county what you may find

You'll make friends from far away

Maybe in time you'll meet them some day

Will they be just what you expect

When on the real person you now can reflect

Maybe it's better to just be words on a screen

Where many are heard but seldom seen

Is a community really tighter nit

Because the key on the computer we quickly hit

Or are we getting lazier every day

Socializing at home is where we will stay

Technology has brought us about

Now there is not reason to really go out

Maybe we sit and read each and every word

Not even missing the voices we once heard

This may even explain a lot

About the term oil in which we are caught

Have we all may be forgotten the simple art

Of leaving the house and taking an active part

It's easy to sit back b***h and complain

But if that's all we do who's really to blame

So for a minutes shut the electronics on down

Go out side and take a look around

Shake your neighbors hand and have a little chat

This is where togetherness is really at

If you help just one person each day

Believe Forward it will start to pay

Acts of kindness and the shake of a hand

Is something everyone will understand

Into every one's life kindness will fit

And maybe better our world will get!
