BreezeA Poem by CalypsoTry see what the metaphor is!The breeze Wraps around the home. Bringing with it All that it can give I sleep Letting dreams Seep with in. The faint scent of apples awoken me. I sit waiting for time to end. Until then I watch the world pass With a hurried pace. I’ve seen it all. I’ve seen love, Kindness, Hate, Wars, But never so much indifference. Mothers leaving her children to starve! Friends stabbing forgetting them in time of end! Starving families with no hope! Suicide by the dozens! Does any one care? People gaze at me, And call me a wonder of nature. My trunk, roots and leaves And roots have been here For centuries. But they never listen to me. Stories to tell. Frights to behold. Be still. And you might see what I see. © 2010 CalypsoAuthor's Note
