Leery the Dolphin

A children story

            Once upon a time there once was a dolphin named Leery. He was a special dolphin, but you never know because he looked like any other dolphin in the sea. The only thing different about Leery is that he could talk.

            The other dolphins ignored him because they thought he was odd and evil. He wasn’t normal enough to fit in.

            Leery was always sad because he had no one. He didn’t have a mom or dad or siblings either. He was alone.

            Then one day he was swimming and was caught in a net.

            Once Leery was pulled from the water he cried, “Please don’t hurt me!”

            The fisherman was so surprised that he almost fell “You can talk!”

            Leery cried out “You bet I can!”

            Then the fisherman had an idea. He took the dolphin home with him to Tennessee. There in Tennessee Leery was kept in an aquarium along with other fishes that grew to love him. But it was the people who loved Leery the best. People can from far and wide just see Leery and he was happy for the rest of his life.  

Author's Note

This may seem silly but I tell this story to my 4 year old sister and she loves it.
