Held MeA Poem by CalypsoI’m not ready to go. I’m still breathing, still standing. I don’t think suicide is the answer for me. You saw me weak, and without hope. You hands held me until I could heal. Your grace held on. We both remember the prayers under dark skies, under a war of hate and abuse. I’m sure Jesus you saw the tears. Lord God You saw the pain deep within. You saw the damage and my lies couldn’t stand in your presence. I was sick. I was hurting. So you heal me until I could walk again. You are all I’ve needed. Forget the drugs I abused. You are the way to cope. Forget my suicide plans. You are the reason to live. Forget the cuts. I’m clean in your eyes. You held me until I could say. “I no longer need to die.” And I cried in joy “I can live again knowing you are my strength.” © 2011 CalypsoReviews
