oh time!

do you all feel time is like a flow of running water?

oh time, won't you stop?

rest have been stuck at the same place but look at where you've got

closed clocks and doors with lost keys

is this what I am living for?

oh time, won't you stop?

is it too much to ask for?

a sec where I don't have to worry about what's left behind and what's coming now

is this what life's all about?

oh time, won't you stop?

wait for me till I know what you're all about

and could you hold me too so I could know how to live in you

is there any other way I could learn how to be true?

oh time, please don't let me stop!

I think I need to go everywhere you want me to

but let's just stay without wasting the best you too

is there any way I could look up and be like you?

Hi Grace, how I sometimes wish time could stop, or at least slow down a little. In the Autumn of my years, time seems to be going by so fast. I love the content of your write. I like how you begin each stanza with the words, "Oh time, won't you stop", with variations as you go on. I can relate. When my youngest brother died unexpectedly in his sleep, I wrote a poem about time and how I didn't want it to go forward, leaving my brother behind. I'll post it some time. In my senior years, after losing a husband, I've found wonderful romantic love. I want time to slow down so we can enjoy what time we have.
