Here’s to the youthful joy
We use to veil our melancholy and sorrow.
To the friday nights spent in a crowd
but still feeling alone.
To the strong emotions
We work so hard to suppress.
To the jokes made at our expense
and the moments spent in blissful ignorance.
Here’s to nonexistent futures
and empty photo albums.
To time wasted in empty promises
spoken with sincere voices.
To hearts with holes
overflowing with love.
To innocent dreams growing their wings
only to be clipped of their feathers in times to come.
