Susceptible To Pain

Poetry flowing through my veins
Opinions of those who are nothing but vain
The latter is controlling me
The former wants me to see
How Emily is calling me
Leading me straight inside
Capturing my heart in stride
She tries to save my crumbled pride
Consumed by those who want to laugh
And joke and hate on my behalf
A humble jester to bow at my queens
All at once my body seems
To be giving my veins to the vain
