Butterflies Waves Flowers MetalA Poem by Laura ExI am fragile painted veins on butterflies’ wings I am crashing waves on the front of the beach I am all those noises when you’ve broken everything I am the goals and expectations you just couldn’t reach
I am leafy flowers just ready to wilt I am milk gone sour when it’s just too late I am all the reasons you have wanted to be killed I am the putrid, filthy feeling filling you with hate
I am wordless screams On colorless butterfly wings I am gloomy days On tidal waves I am burns from hot metal On forget-me-not petals I am all that’s forgotten On flesh that is rotten
I am no longer flying On my loud dainty wings I am no longer floating On foamy blue waves I am no longer sweltering On fields of buds I am no longer gone without a trace But chances are, you won’t remember my face. © 2010 Laura ExAuthor's Note
