It's valentines day already here in my country and well I just wanted to share what I feel during the day of hearts which is coincidentally my birthday

Valentine's Day

Sappy love songs 

blasting on the radios

Loving couples staring

wildly at each other

Red and Pink hearts

spread all over the world

Cupid's out with his 

arrows nocked

Love is in the air 

and we're all screwed

Cause f**k Valentine's 

here again this year

I'm sure that St Hallmark the patron saint of pointless celebratory days will be furious with this poem!

You've managed to strike a nice balance between sarcasm and bitterness that makes this poem very effective. It would have been easy to simply vent your hate but doing it this way would bring a wry smile to the face of even the most ardent supporter of Valentines day.

Haha a nice touch on the last verse. You could sense that something was a little bit off from the way you described the lovers wild look at each other. Not to mention, "sappy" love songs. :P Nicely done :P

Oh, yes, Valentine's Day, how I hate it. Sappy, really, is what it is. Almost seems fake, cheesy, unreal. And all the worse for the single people. Nice job capturing all that. Love the ending.
