Lost and Found

A poem of hope dedicated to all who are suffering from abuse in all it's ugly forms

Broken bones.
Gut-wrenching cry.
Shattered heart.
Hopeless life.
Nothing to give.
I'm too far beyond, stuck in a trance.

 

I'm down on my knees,
Please, I don't want to fight.
Let go of me, I want a new life.
No longer will you hold me down.
No longer will you shut me up.

Tonight is the night-
That I will strive.

Courage I seek,
To stand up to you.
Courage I will gain,
When I pray.

For God is with me, now I know-
My eyes are wide open, I can see, wow how beautiful it flows.
Wash me clean- this is when life truly begins. 
Mended scares,
Healing starts.
It's never too late for
My simple heart.

Drifting in and out.
Looking out from my window,
Grey, rain-drops-drop.

Heavy eyes strain to remain open.
Out of my body- nothing.
I feel I’m no longer me
Feelings… please stop you are no longer controlling.

I don’t want to feel
It’s too much to handle
Everyone has intentions
And all I want to feel is Love.

Stop the hate.
Stop the violence.
What have we become?
Why are we so full of Anger?

Leave it. Drop it. Just look up.
Ask for forgiveness and peace,
And let’s unite with joy & laughter.
No more hurt,
No more tears,
Let’s be free to feel this Love,
That’s truly everlasting!

Very nice, direct piece. The word choice is elegant in its simplicity, which so clearly delivers your message. I *loved* the last two lines in particular, lovely message. :)
