A Poem for Our Generation

A Poem for Our Generation

A Poem by Vanessa Pavelock

Don’t lie, you’re obsessed

with capturing moments

Into a 4x4 frame.

Instant. Gratification.

You have no time.

No time for cooking.

No time for family.

No time for novels.

Sparknoting your own life.

If I told you a poem

can say more in 10 seconds

than Victor Hugo

said in 1,400 pages,

Would you look up

From your iPhone X?

Would you accept a

soft kiss from a written verse,

And awake from your slumber?
