Being
How long has
it been
Since I've listened to the birds
Felt the cool drifting winds
Tantalize my dreary being?
How long has it been
Since I've gazed at a harvest moon
Awe struck and mesmerized
By the eeriness of its glow?
How long has
it been
Since I lay tranquil and still
In pillows of solitude
Enchanted by the calm?
How long has it been
Since I've sat solemn and alone
In the soulful breath
Of moss covered trees?
How long has it been
Since I've unveiled my veritable self
Immortal - in my nothingness
Reclusive to my internal storms?
It has been too long
That I remain in dissipation
Amongst this progeny of oblivion
Of living zombies and spiritless beings
Blackened and satiated in their excess
It has been too long
That I continue smitten with life
For my hearts’ desire
Is to blossom and thrive
In the beguiling bliss
Of just -
Being
