Ivory GemstoneA Poem by Julius Whitfield
This rock had once stayed in place A city of imbalances now covered by snows of obsession Applied the city with floods of carelessness, drowning all around it in apathy Theres a current, if you hurry, you can probably catch it. Theres something in the waters; a consumption of desperation to chew and chock on ivory ashes and manipulate through an object of cowardice Entertain the city with a dragging need for something wretched and sour Youre building up a disease, a sickness that the sky rains down Staining the city and its shell Reality weighs down, anchoring but single sacrifices can make up for the constant struggle and determination that youve fallen upon. © 2008 Julius Whitfield |
