This is my Lie

You are nothing to me
That much is a fact
Yet my words are contradictory
To the way I act

I allowed your words
To mean more than they should
You struck a chord
And it did me no good

So infuriating all this is
Off with my wounded pride
Really nothing is amiss
Don't know why I wish to run and hide
