Change

Funny thing, as I am posting his poem...I"m listening to Deftone's Change.

 

Friend, what happend to you?

Where was the person I once admired?

Why have you changed?

Didn't expect you'd turn out this way

Or is it me who's not the same?

Am I finally seeing things clearly?

How I wish I could go back

To when things were simple and kind

Now I feel like we're drifting apart

Will we still be friends in the end?

I have gone through the same pain. I had a friend who taught me the meaning of best friend and after eight years of togetherness she left me. Now even when we are in the same room we don't even say hi. How desperately i wish we can be together...... This is one of the works that touched my heart. But then I think that it wasn't the person who changed, but sometimes our eyes are tied with the knot of blind love of ours that restricts us to look through and when we are finally awake only the pain and sufferings are left.

This makes me think of one of my childhood friends who took a turn for the worse. We used to be inseperable and were like brothers in a lot of ways. Now I haven't seen or heard from him in years and years due to his own choice of poor decision making. It's strange how things can change so quickly or even over the course of several years. I guess friends come and go no matter how important they once were to us. It's part of life.
