Barbwire love

Sometimes you can't help yourself

　

                                     Barbwire love

 

They told me to run,

Hide away from your hypnotic lure,

Like a magnet you pull me,

Away from every logical thought,

The sound of your voice whispering my name,

Ushers me into the arms of insanity.

 

We clash like fire and ice,

Every heated word effective foreplay,

Your touch it sears and runs deep,

Till you are like a fever raging in my blood,

I would drain my veins,

If it would cure my affliction.

 

I am everything you want,

But nothing you need,

You are my weakness and as the pendulum swings,

I bring you to your knees,

Wrong or right,right or wrong

Together,both or neither.

 

You have etched your name,

Across my heart, my soul,my psyche.

And claimed me as yours,

Branded for eternity ,

Imprisoned by our barbed wire love,

Felled by its double edged sword.

This is a different type of love connection and story, I'll say. But it's always good to be unique and put a new spin on things. I love the title and that's what mainly drew me to read this piece. Looks like you switched the roles, if we compare this with "the siren's song", it's so curious how attraction and love can have such a strong power on us. I particularly enjoyed the way you used oxymoron, (fire-ice, everything-nothing, both-neither), they convey a sense of extreme which is definitely relatable to this kind of feeling you wrote about.
