Who Am I ?A Poem by Vidya BacchusRamblings of a purple angel. Who am I ? I am not a poet or a wordsmith, Who can capture with my words, I can only beg these pages, To be patient with my ramblings, I am not a singer that can coax a tear, By the sweetness of my voice, And be remembered long after, My curtain has fallen. I am but a person cast adrift in my life, Wondering and worrying, That I am going about it all wrong, And everyone knows, As they judge me in silence, Shaking their heads at every decision, But offering no advice, Lest I realize they are looking. I used to need your approval, It meant so much to me, Until I realized it was never mine to have, And then my approval became all that mattered to me.
