Pour your broken feelings out

The string
You cut it
The glass
You smashed it
Like paper which you tore
Oblivion in between

What you asked for
I gave a yes to
Another step, another stone
But I came tumbling down
Didn't find Wonderland
Quite the opposite in fact

Once
And then twice
How many times?
It's lost, so lost
Can it ever be returned?
Give me a reply

You utter countless words
Believable, unbelievable
I have a clouded mind
But I gave my word
Not yet
I'll stand by it

Is it me who's despicable?
Maybe. I don't know
But you threw the rock
The thin line is jagged
The fire you ignited
It has destroyed us
