An Attempt at an ExplanationA Poem by TaraNo one understands why I sit morning after morning with my legs dangling into Moriches bay eyes peeled to the sky. I suppose I would wonder too, at this morning ritual. There is just something about the early light of dawn. The bay takes the place of you. Here you live, no longer ash and bones. Here, memory renews itself and I am a young girl again awed by simple natural abundance. Another salty breath brings me back to gratitude. I salvage my dreams drunk with this landscape of silence. If you sat with me one day in the light of early dawn you would see me as I am a reflection of you; of everything.
