THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG

THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG

A Poem by Lucky
"

the princess and frog fairy tale in poetry

"
there was a princess, who once had a dream
a dream of the sun, a dream of the sea
but there stands a wall between her and the dream
the wall of money, the wall of dime
she was a princess, a princess in their eyes
her parents, their daughter, their pride.
she lived a life of happiness and depth
living it to the zenith, to the end of this world
every move she made spread the vibe of life
every smile she gave spread the vibe of another smile
with every step she took she spread love
with every laughter she spread cheer.
then came along a handsome prince with a vibe of his own
a vibe of flirt, a vibe of fun
he came find himself a princess, a heiress of sorts
such was he lost in the world of fun and frolic
that he mis-stepped and got mis-lead
to the world of the rotten, the world of the enchanter.
the choices he made were so devastating
it lead to being a frog
slimy , green, attracting a frequent scream
still not loosing hope, he hopped in search of his love.
but then he was struck by a dream
a dream that floated by, as if walking on the breeze
so, he followed her to her humble abode
catching every glimpse, every smile, every laugh
by the time they reached home, he fell in love
lost his heart to the beautiful girl.
he decided to go up to her, ask her to be his wife
travel across the world, to the kingdom of her dream
but he had forgotten that he was a prince no more
he was the frog prince, he was no mink.
nevertheless he stepped forward
walked up to her window, raised his voice
calling out to her he put out his heart, saying
"my dear, i have never seen a dream walk by
looking so beautiful, just so divine
spreading life, spreading a smile
but now i have fallen in love with the dream
i can't hold back, i have to stretch out and touch it
so come my love, i wish to take you along
to my kingdom across the world so vast
i shall cherish you forever in life
come with me, be my wife."
the girl intrigued came to her window
looking for the prince, the man who spoke with gusto
but all she saw was a frog on the pane
sad and low she sat down so slow
she looked at the frog with eyes full of life
that forced the frog prince to ask for a smile.
the girl so shocked, she looked with awe
at the frog prince who did not budge or go away
he spoke again for a kiss
but his love shied away saying she was no princess
but he said she was his princess and no regular mistress.
so she agreed to give him the dream kiss
without thinking or making a fuss
as his words had cast a spell on her
a spell of love, a spell of two doves.
she kissed her frog with full devotion
and opened her eyes to find her prince.
with love spilling over the brink
they made the announcement to the thick and thin
inviting the world to wish them luck and sail them away to the far off world
thus, the princess of the house, grew to be the princess of the crowd
ruling with love and compassion
living every little girls dream.
