Like a Hamburger

Like a Hamburger

A Poem by vickie
"

Loaded with crap, covered in junk

"

Some days I feel like
A hamburger
Cheap fast food

Not a frau from Hamburg,
But a fat, greasy
Chunk of grade A beef

Loaded with crap
Covered in junk
Oozing shame

Filling the tummy
With little nutrition
Plain old junk food

Considered a staple
Of the modern diet
Devoid of vegetable matter

Smothered between two
Cardboard buns
Coveted by all

A vegetarian
I loathe myself
For what I represent

Though change
I cannot.
I am what I am

A burger
A lowly burger
Cannot a salad be

Wow! This was a creative, unique poem! I loved how you compare yourself to a hamburger... :) Brillant.

About
I've written short stories, essays, a novel, and started a new novel, but I've only recently discovered my inner poet. It may not be good, but at least it's genuine. Let me know what you think. more..
