when?

Society can be a disgusting thing

when did we become so empty

when did we become so numb to any pain

when did we become these heartless creatures

when did we become this

it isn't human;

what we're doing, we are shells.

we are not humans but arsenals of 

emptiness,

killing everything that has any feeling in our paths

whatever we have become...

when did this happen?

I often ask myself the same question. I try to search for the point in time when I first started to turn into whatever I am today... and I can never really find it... I always think 'I guess I've always been this way' and that's where I leave it. Very nice poem. Simple, but meaningful.

I think the poem would read better it the last line rhymed with "This", it would strengthened how it sounds when read aloud. This one does not resonate with me (I guess I am not in that situation), but I think it would make very cool lyrics for a song.

I wonder at times what is it that can satisfy human greed. We do awful things to satisfy this greed of ours. Its a pity really.
