A Clot in Creativity

My April 1st poem for National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) 2012.

Thoughts to think,
Words to write,
But not a connection between them.

How to pave the path
From the mind
To the page?

How to build the bridge
For thoughts already packaged
To reach the empty canvas?

A dam is in the river,
A clot is in the vein,
To stop the ideas from flowing!

What can restore the circulation?
What can make the waters flow
Over their loathsome block?

Or is it better to leave things be,
Quit trying to kidnap inspiration?
Maybe my muse will come back tomorrow.
