Double Chocolate Cookie

My April 11th poem for NaPoWriMo 2012

Oaken crags of brown give way,
Crumbling in my bite
While roars of yielding sweetness
Resound on my palate.
Pangs of love sprawl over my
Tongue, tainting the buds
With their seduction
As a coffee copycat
Teases my nostrils,
Far outshining the object of
Its imitation.

And then I swallow.
