Fair Enough

Fair Enough

A Poem by Tendai

You could bare your soul in silence
You could bleed your joy into their shadows
You could fold yourself into shapes just to fit
You can never be enough for someone.

You could wait through winters without warmth
You could pour your laughter into empty rooms
You could carry the weight of their broken yesterdays
You can never be enough for someone.

You could pray with hands that tremble
You could love with the rage of collapsing skies
Even your silence, your presence, your pain
Because sometimes, it's not about you at all
And the cruelest truth we learn too late
Is that you can never be enough for someone.
