lady bugs and butterflies flicker and flutter on a stormy moonlit night

a cloud of vampire bats nests among the trees

croaking frogs leap from leaf to leaf to avoid the coming blight

thunderous skies and torrential rains wreaks havoc in their might

a gaggle of geese is attacked by a swarm of killer bees

In the dead of night nightingales and humming birds take flight

the scorpions’ sting brings Man to its knees

croaking frogs jump from rock to rock to avoid the coming blight

rabbits take cover in thickets of bush and shrub---they shiver in fright

creatures of the swamp flee the bayou for black sand beaches and brackish seas

butterflies and lady bugs flicker and flutter on a rainy moonlit night

the alligators mate with their kind and stay behind out of spite

Jumping Jack Jimmy Jam Jones bones came down with a devilish disease

croaking frogs soar from branch to branch to avoid the coming blight

the red moonlit haze on this apocalyptic night is a terrifying sight 

itsy bitsy spiders and hordes of beastie bugs joyfully breathe in the miasmic breeze
