I Will Sing for You

I Will Sing for You

A Poem by Wesley Dingler
"

For Allie

"
If you ever feel you've lost your own voice,
and the world makes it seem like you have no choice
but to give up and give in,
know I will sing for you.

When the hours seem to stretch on for days,
and dark clouds form just to obscure your gaze,
please don't give up or give in.
Know I will sing for you.

I know just how it feels
to see your dream spiraling down the drain--
when demons don't even have to vie,
because you've already lost it all to the hands of fate.
I remember those days.
Those days can bring about a plague.

But have no fear.
I will still be here,
and I will still know your face.

Trust that I will take the stage,
and I will sing in your place.
Trust I will never give up or give in.
Trust that I will bleed for you.

If you ever feel you've lost your own voice,
and the world makes it seem like you have no choice
but to give up and give in,
know I will sing for you.

We all have days that we don't want to speak of.
We all have days when we can't make ourselves speak up.
And on those days, I swear,
it won't be your cross alone to bear.

I will be the voice that clears the air.

I like your repeated phrase: I will sing for you. I would like to see it carried through the poem. Perhaps drop the “that” and simply say “know I will sing for you.”

You are welcome my friend.
Whomever will sing for you, support you, whether God or not is a very kind loving person,, and this poem shows this clearly. It show that when one is "down", someone will stand in for you. A very well writtn and relevant poem.

Gee
Like this. We, all of us, need a few true friends that will, without asking, pick up the pieces, be at our side when times are tough. Some folk turn to God, I turn to the special 8 friends that share mine and my families life.

Thank you my friend. I'm happy my message reached you and I hope it reaches many more.
An upbeat poem of encouragement here. In this time of the plague and its isolation, many need to hear such words. Well done.
