ellipsis heart

you put a period to love,
when i would have loved you,
endlessly under asterisks
putting as many periods
to your every period,
only this time, we've ran out
of paper, and i found a box
full of love notes to you,
from someone, so i put our love
in parenthetical seclusion,
until i hear an explanation
i could quote to my heart,
full of exclamatory questions,
that i need to put a comma,
between every beat of your name

the lover loves the beloved, but the beloved is cheating on the lover, the lover wants an explanation why the beloved cheated, because the lover really loves the beloved - sorry for talking like this - it's the poetry getting into me
