A Poem by Wilyem Clark

Hail, Virginia!
The New Dominion,
Exceptional exception
To the rule of blah.
With tempered zeal
You came to the aid of
Progress, truth, and fairness,
And chorused without bile against
Solipsistic evil.
At last, you have redeemed yourself
After years of doubt and tarnish,
Coarse nostalgic peevishness,
And other foot-drag tendencies.
Henceforth, I'll praise you sumptuously,
And proudly claim you as my own.
