Scentless

Scentless

A Poem by Witty Fay
"

A poem on recurring scents

"

This indelible scent of yours

Numbing my nostrils

And delighting my skin,

Lives a plentiful life

In the memory of us.

As I peruse all remote corners,

Seeking for questions

To my grand answers,

Mesmerizing odours

Peak their heads from latency

Invading a still territory.

They laid dormant

Forbidden to breathe,

As time poured soothing moments upon.

And -bread, nail polish, coffee, me,

petrol, vanilla, bleeding heart,

morning dew, you, basil,

orange peel, us, old books, paint-

all clad in joyous liveliness.

Colliding choices,

Redolent of our tuneless song.
