A daughter's lament

A daughter's lament

A Poem by Witty Fay
"

Upon the loss of someone close

"

I shall not blind the mirror

For I fear not my broken pain.

This hollow gaze holds back

No deceit,

No glint,

No hope.

It is not you who has forsaken life

It is life that could not bear

Your disownment.

Today I am vacant.

Your etherial pose

Of manyfold shades

No longer inhabits my days.

And loud passions have turned into ashes,

And the present smells

Of unforgiven scent.

My hands have lost purpose,

No longer are they primed to weave

Diligent castles of mundane.

I shall not blind the mirror

For there is aliveness

Behind its distortion-

Seeing and being seen.
