place with the rocks

I dove deep
into the bubbles
of stories
that kept afloat
for five years, firm.

Although we liked

to think in rivers,
streams never
danced from
lips to ears.

I can find
her face
to stamp
on every penny
that I spend.

Dedications
to her
touched
by many
hands.

And she
will stand perfect
in my mind,
but not strong
enough
to bind.

I asked her,
"who are our children?"
"what are their names?"
they are far,
but rustle
in my brain,
swimming in
your womb.
I will come to you
to release
them soon.

As we wound
ourselves in
the thread
of dread,
I tickled her soul,
she removed
her head,
the dreaming
we locked,
was beaten
and dropped
away
to take place
with
the rocks.

That's my favourite stanza.. not just in this poem, but possibly ever.
There are so many different meanings I can give to this, I love the vast choice of depth here.
And I just think you write so well, you could take the most awkward and ugly topic and it would still sound poetic.
..and I would fall in love with every one of your words.

Very interesting write... curious imagery indeed. I particularly enjoyed the stanza: "I can find / her face / to stamp / on every penny / that I spend." It flowed extremely well. The rest of the poem has good rhythm and flow as well but I think it really picked up and took life in that stanza. At least that's how it felt for me. But the imagery is intriguing for sure.
