Gaza Tonight Bleeds-

A Chapter by Wondering Mind
"

"They got the guns, but we got the numbers."..The Doors

"

The windows are closed
The drapes are drawn
Justice abandoned and
Peace pleads forlorn

Where are you now
O! Hypocrites for Peace?
Why are you silent?
Or is it a fleece?

Gaza tonight bleeds
It dies before your eyes
Your silence is pathetic
Revealing your lies

Author's Note

Wondering Mind
A collaboration with my conscience.
Peace is such a lovely "concept" to write poems about, isn't it?

Peace written in any form is an attempt to draw attention to the inhumanity of Man to Man, everywhere and anywhere.

Without words, there's nothing but silence - logic.

God willing - all gods' willing, 2009 will produce an upsurge of loud public expression everywhere on this planet. People read and hear, they communicate through forms of online and real world expression, such as your own powerful poem. What you write is true, so true, but...

people do care; there are petitions on hand in the UK, have heard there are others in France and Canada.. Maybe waiting is out of the question, maybe your and others' criticisims and obvservation need more than an online writers' group, express your thoughts further afield, then, see the reaction.

Yes it is !!!!!
and especially when those pieces are written and spoken forth because of the agony and the raging pain inside, for we have already known that the "Bird of Peace" is such a lovely illusion "they" made for us yet to make us hope for some promised moments of peace... that won't even come...

Gaza bleeds because those who would murder other innocents hide among their own women and children. Where are those brave warriors who boldly proclaim their courage and righteousness when the TV cameras are rolling? Those same ones who have rained down rockets on schools and hospitals just across the border for years without cause or provocation in spite of agreeing to an endless succession of cease-fires.

And where have the cries of injustice been for the other women and children who have lived in constant fear and terror? Women and children who know they only have fifteen seconds when the sirens sound, day or night. Who has protested that injustice? And what god condones this butchery? No God I know.
If I could I would bring all the innocents to some safe and warm and peaceful place and let those who delight in their murdering ways indulge themselves until none stood at last.

Would to God I could make a difference... Would to God the bleeding would stop on both sides of the border.

Thank you for sharing this piece.

i cant agree more with you
we are hypocrites for peace..
we just talk about it to say how great we are ..how humane..
we are no more but liars..i am really ashamed
you can say anything about me ..you are right
but i am already bleeding in my spot..cant even turn my head
i cant look for other pools of blood..for what i have around me
is more than enough ..
i thank you for your bravery..my silence is pathetic
but do you hear just one word around you..very quiet around here
i really wonder why..strange

I am so heartbroken about this war that sprung into full action. I have been listening to the news about the grim details of this assault on humanity!! It is sickening how much depravity the world can continue to reveal. I have been hearing about protest in parts of the U.S...but really more needs to be done. I think your words speak out loudly against those who will claim to be seekers of peace but do nothing... it is dreadful hypocrisy.
A horrific subject, yet a wonderful write.
