Was Reason Right?

 

Widowed wishes wail;

whales weeping

          in a deep ocean

             of immersed emotion.

Too many whys

                  killed a when

                           in a mindless game of reason.

                                    With time,

     treason tainted trust.

Hopelessness haunted horizons,

once painted in rainbows

of childlike dreams.

The child died,

the colors faded,

grayed.

Turned slowly

to empty black

and

lifeless white

                           Was reason right?

i'm not sure of the true meaning behind the poem, but the feeling i get from it is one that i have experienced in different ways and varying degrees... reflection on actions and choices

this is simple and complex at the same time... and i still has me thinking.. (it could also be that it is a little after 6am and i haven't had coffee yet)
