There is a myth that needs a slaying For it has crept into (or been fed intraveneaously) into every small child, ev’ry babe A sinister lie, a dastardly deceit– the myth of logic and order and sense in numbers. From podiums and pulpits they declaim this heresy in a thousand books t’is written But no more I say! Let the truth be out! Break the chain link ∞
and refill the negative imaginary integer! You laugh, you scoff, you mathematician– but I challenge you– Put pencil to paper and begin to equate or lineate ones and forties and x’s and z’s and like a graphite Vesuvius, they erupt and bleed down the page, staining hands and Hearts, bringing terror to the masses.
