A Moment in a MirrorA Poem by Erin SkyLacy seemed to think this a little risqué - so I gave it a teen audience flag
Live as though your world was ended hanging around your ankles like last week’s unwashed jeans with holes in the thighs and embarrassing places The trotted shoes are still tongue-tied, red socks sag higher than the jeans, and your feet are sweating Corduroy and black, unbuttoned off one shoulder (the left sleeve undone) Skin shows, alive and breathing The little strands frame your sweet face Your kitty legs in red socks and unbuttoned shirt You smile, safe, frothy denim ponds black cloth-y cliffs, female soil hanging around for peace and contemplation © 2008 Erin Sky |
