The Autobiography of a VolcanoA Poem by Isha C.
Lava boils inside of me. Like Haldane described earth, At the beginning of the creation. This primitive agony, Paralyzes my brain Driving me insane And I erupt. I perish the green around me, I perish the skin around me, I do not want to But the magma sets me free. I wonder, Is it really freedom? Vomiting stardust From the depths one cannot fathom? I cry rocks that are molten From earth’s womb, I release the pain. You cannot tame me. Not with your technology. I shiver and I shake, I put precious lives at stake, Pour me a cup of water I will turn it into vapour. It will take thousand rainstorms To fill my hollow lonely crater. © 2018 Isha C. |
