They speakA Poem by CD
They speak, but only to those who hear They dance, but only to those who see They fall, but only to those fear Across the night sky, leaving their glistening streak Another soul is born;for the world to hold dear Cold harshness resembling the night The lost one struggles for just one more breath Till he finds his own pool of light Leaving those who continue shivering into death The pull is strong, the grip is sure Let the eyes remain faithful Away from the sleep where the twinkling beauties are no more They burn, but only to those who feel pain They laugh, but only to those who sing They whisper, but only to those who strain They give, but only to those who bring Comfort is their only notion Taking away the sting Aquired of a cursed love potion The stillness of the trees and sleeping ones Never leave the eyes gently closed The soft lullabyes and hushed tones Always like the rush when a river flows The trembling is with all When we make a wish,a cry is heard And the sacrificing star will fall Dear Reader and confused mind Lay the pondering aside at this jest Simply look at the night sky Peace be with you, your soul at rest
