Ocean of SadnessA Poem by writergal714Your sadness is an ocean so wide and so blue but there's no lifeguard watching no raft to hold onto
You're falling so quickly and fighting everyone who helps I see your smile but hear your yelps
Your sadness it causes ripples and not every one is grand you're getting even further between the surf and the land
I give you my hand to take I'd give you my soul and my heart to break if it would make you better
Your childhood memories are an ocean too big to slip away but too close together to begin to even sway
And what scares me the most is that we're so close that when I see you I see me.
My sadness is an ocean sometimes just like yours and I'm reaching out to you and you offer me your oars
and I smile because we're not alone and together we'll muddle through maybe my sadness is not an ocean and neither is yours
maybe it just looks so much bigger because the world tells us it's so but with you in my corner it's not so enormous and it has a shiny glow
The things you think you've given me have given us this bond and so perhaps our sadness is not an ocean but a mere little pond
and a hope that one day our ocean of sadness will dwindle with every ache and our ocean of sadness will be no more and instead what will lie will be a happiness lake © 2011 writergal714 |
