three complicated words

You stole what i thought was taken

An unexpected surprise

I feel, what i thought was lost

It's hard for me to say the words,

           the words i can't admit

Yet, at times i scream them in my head

I'm afraid,

          afraid to lose one that isn't mine

I hear the words,

         "i love you" he says

I hesitate,

        "ditto" i reply.

Yes, it can be extremely difficult to utter such powerful words. In admitting such raw emotion, there comes a period in which an individual becomes vulnerable... and more often than not, that vulnerability is unsettling. Good write!!!
