Dream Theater "Buried"

Dream Theater "Buried"

A Poem by Brandon Dunbar
"

Another sequence in the Dream Theater series about being Buried Alive!

"
The curtain falls
Eyes grow dim
Sleep now overtakes me
As the next sequence begins

I awake to darkness
Little room to move around
Arms and hands are free
Legs seem to be bound

Seems to be a wood box
Not much room to spare
I'm not alone in here
A scorpion intertwined in my hair

How did I get here?
Will I get free?
Who trapped me in here?
Why target me?

My breathing has slowed
The oxygen is almost out
Being saved is not in the cards
Of that I have only doubt

Box is starting to crumble
Dirt starts to fill the inside
Only minutes left to live
I really don't want to die

As my consciousness fades
Give my family my love
My form will fade away
I'll watch from the starlit skies above

My heart gives its last beat
A ringing from my phone
I'm jolted awake in my bed
Back where I've always known

My chest still tightens with dread
Just another vivid dream
One thing about these sequences
Nothing is as it seems
