Dream Theater "The Floor is Lava"

Dream Theater "The Floor is Lava"

A Poem by Brandon Dunbar
"

Just a fun little game we used to play.

"
This is it
It has begun
The floor is lava
Where can you run

We've entered the dream
This one not like before
A small version of myself
Likely not more than four

Remember the games
Entertainment by any means
Now somehow come to life
Small couch with nowhere to lean

Furniture all around
Sinking into the ground
The world I created in my head
All disappearing never to be found

I must find a way out
Situation seems dire
Suffocating smoke fills the room
What remains has caught fire

Heat starts to overtake
Every bit of me feels the burn
Wake up in a panic
The next dream, it's your turn
