Dream Theater "Haunting Dread"

Dream Theater "Haunting Dread"

A Poem by Brandon Dunbar
"

A dream sequence of a haunting tale.

"

Turn of the knob

Creek of the door

I turn back to look

To a sound that is no more

I start to venture forward

Keep myself on track

As I continue to walk

Something brushes up against my back

Startled and scared

I turn around to see

A mirror down the hall

Revealing nobody but me

What is going on

Am I going insane

This can't be real

It's a figment from my brain

Breathing felt on my neck
The faint sound of dread
I'm starting to freak out
Is it all in my head?

The noise grows louder still

As my fear begins to rise

This can't be real

Something is deceiving my eyes

I turn to go back

As fear won't subside

The door now gone

It was all just a lie

I know nothing of this place

Or the sounds that I hear

Are my eyes deceiving me

Nothing seems clear

I am stopped with fear

I let out a scream

All of a sudden I'm awakened

It was all just a dream
