Freedom

Freedom

A Poem by xTheArsonist

Sometimes we look past the brightest rays of sunshine
And see the dark days within these four walls confine
Like a prison cell with no bars, no lock, and no key
But still there is something holding you back from being free
IS anything really free you may start to ask yourself
The answer is not one in any book on any shelf
It can only be found when you can see into the deepest reaches
Between the grey matter and all the twisted facial features
When you look past the mask and find your true soul
When you gather all the pieces and realize they're larger than the whole
Only then can you appreciate the true world around you
And let go of all the suffering and leave it in the ground too.
